IRC
IRC is a network of servers for many purposes. Utonet.org is the official Utopian server. It provide utopian kingdoms to set up a channel for its members to communicate. Also for kingdoms to communicate with each others. For a kingdom to be well structured it needs instant contacts between its members. These channels makes it possible for multipy members to talk to each others at the same time. But you could aslo send private messages to any IRC user.
Every users have a nickname to identify themself with. In order to secure your nickname so others cannot use it, you need to register your nickname. Its also needed if you are to join a secure channel. Use the following command;
/ns register PASSWORD EMAIL
Replace PASSWORD with a password to your liking and also make sure you replace EMAIL with a valid email address. This email address is required and will be validated before you can use your nickname. And then to identify yourself with this nickname you use this command;
/ns identify PASSWORD
To connect to the utopian server on IRC you need to select irc.utonet.org as server to connect to. And then to join your kingdom channel you use following command;
/join #CHANNEL
Where CHANNEL is the name of your kingdom channel.
mIRC is the most common program IRC users use. It is easy to use and trustable. nbs is an allround resource friendly mIRC-addon (script) wich changes looks and behavior
as well as adding lots of useful features to mIRC. If you somehow cant download the mIRC client, there is java chats where you can access the utonet.org server. One is located at the TheDragonPortal site. If you for example is at your work/school or in a internet cafe, this is a brilliant secondary choise.
